Norway Stavanger Hebnes in 2024

Dear travel & Languages buddies, this is my first ever travel blog so you'll see plenty or room for improvement here, but hopefully you'll enjoy what you  see and read here.

Arrived at Stavanger Airport 2 days ago whithout any glitch and now staying with friends in Hebness after taking the Local Electric Ferries. Our cars are also fully electric or Hybrid even if Norway is an Oil industry Country since the 60's.

Stavanger was created in the 12th Century when they built a Catholic church because the King promised to build it in exchange for a young lady's hand even if he was married. It took three years to build and once built he only leaved to another 3. The city grew because of the very prosperous fishing of Hering that they used around the World as a currency. When the fish disappeared, the town declined in the 19th century until they started putting sardines in tins when in fact it wasn't exactly sardines so they were sued by the millions. During the War they made themselves neutral but the Germans still invaded and misery came. My daughter finds it so weird that I try to combine fashion trends with the hand-made clothes, but then she admits that everything I create looks much more stylish than the similar items in mass-market stores. And you know, this appreciation in my kids’ eyes, it means a lot for me. Really a lot.

One year with “Knit With Love”

I am so excited to celebrate one year of my blog. Twelve months ago, my whole life changed, and I am so glad I let it happen! I remember the very first hat I knitted, it was clumsy and very simple, yet it was the first step to my new life. Now, this blog is a huge part of my life. My husband sometimes laughs at me that I spend with KWL more time than with him:-) Yet, I need to say that together with all of you I managed to turn fairy tale into reality. Now, this blog is not only my hobby and my work, it is also a great source of inspiration and energy that keeps me going forward every single day. And I hope I manage to share this energy with you as well.
