Norway Stavanger Hebnes in 2024

Dear travel & Languages buddies, this is my first ever travel blog so you'll see plenty or room for improvement here, but hopefully you'll enjoy what you  see and read here.

Arrived at Stavanger Airport 2 days ago whithout any glitch and now staying with friends in Hebness after taking the Local Electric Ferries. Our cars are also fully electric or Hybrid even if Norway is an Oil industry Country since the 60's.

Hebnes is a very small village with mainly farmers but not the regular type as they grow vines, berries, apples.... I'll came back to hebnes later, let's talk about Savanger, Norway and the language.

Stavanger was created in the 12th Century when they built a Catholic church because the King promised to build it in exchange for a young lady's hand even if he was married. It took three years to build and once built he only leaved to another 3. The city grew because of the very prosperous fishing of Hering that they used around the World as a currency. When the fish disappeared, the town declined in the 19th century until they started putting sardines in tins when in fact it wasn't exactly sardines so they were sued by the millions. During the War they made themselves neutral but the Germans still invaded and misery came. In 1945 the exiled king came back and they recovered as a united country very slowly until Oil was discovered in the 60's which helped grow te town by X10 and is now the 4th city in the country with it's Airport.
